JD Foundation

Our Organization

JD Foundation is being built by a small, dedicated team - and we're being upfront about exactly where things stand, both with our people and our paperwork.

Leadership

Darin Williams

Founder and President

A US citizen who has lived in Asia for over 30 years, with a lasting passion for children's education. During three years in Vietnam, he helped build and refurbish schools in the provinces. Through his connections in the Philippines and Singapore, he and Jole started JD Foundation to turn that experience into real, direct support for the school.

Jole Davasol

Co-Founder

Grew up in Carles, Iloilo, and brings a personal, lived understanding of what the school and community actually need.

Our board is growing. We're in the process of adding additional directors, including local partners on Naborot Island and US-based support, to build a well-rounded, accountable foundation for the long run.

Local Program Advisors

We are working closely with teachers and staff at Naborot Carles Elementary, who advise us on what the school needs most and help make sure every dollar goes where it will actually make a difference.

Legal Status

JD Foundation is being founded as a Texas nonprofit corporation, with the goal of becoming a registered 501(c)(3) public charity in the United States. Our founders currently live and work internationally, but the organization itself is built and based in the US.

We're completing the formal steps now:

  • Texas incorporation

    in progress

  • Federal EIN

    in progress

  • 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status

    in progress

We'll update this page as each step is completed. Donations made before 501(c)(3) approval may become tax-deductible retroactively once approval comes through, but are not tax-deductible until then.

As support grows, we hope to extend this same kind of help to other isolated schools across the Philippines.

Want to support the work? Every bit helps move something forward.
